Student Council Executive

President

Hello, my name is Arwen Rauguth, and I am 17 years old. I will graduate this year after eight years with Heritage Christian Online School. Being a student with HCOS allowed me to customize my educational path to fit my individual learning style and schedule.

I find joy exploring the outdoors while hiking, expressing myself through music, and communicating my thoughts using art. I am dedicated to my Christian faith and strive to be a leader in all aspects of my life. God has given me many opportunities to become a leader, such as the Heritage Fair Alumni Council, coaching Gymnastics as a profession, and Campfire Ministries. I look forward to being an advocate of HCOS students across British Columbia. I am excited to see the positive impact and unforgettable experiences that will come from our work as a Student Council.

Vice President

Hello my name is Simon, I'm 18 years old and live on Vancouver Island.

I've been with HCOS for 12 years, I'll be graduating this year. I am this year's Vice President.

I love the outdoors and finding ways to make school more engaging and fun.

I am glad to be a part of the student council and can't wait to start debating and planning with all of you guys.

As some of you know I love debating and I think every opinion should if not acted on at least heard,

even if it's the dumbest idea you can think of, I would love to hear it.

I am so glad HCOS now has a student council and that I'm a part of it, it's going to be great

Secretary

Hello, my name is Emily Vandop. I am 17 years old and I am one of HCOS’s graduates this year. I am a part of a family of 5, my parents, my two sisters and I. This is my second year with HCOS and I am loving it.

I love to be with people and make new friendships. I volunteer at a youth group that I love so much here on the island. I love hanging out with people and getting to know them better while having a good time. I love to be outdoors, to go for walks, and to go geocaching with my father. I joined the HCOS Student Council because I think that everyone deserves a chance to speak and have their voices heard. I also am looking forward to the change and fun that is taking place and will be happening here at HCOS.

Treasurer

Hi, my name is Kingsley Fisher and I’m 17 years old, and I’m the student council’s treasurer. This year I graduate from HCOS and will hopefully go on to university. I’ve been with HCOS for 7 years now, and I'm proud to be able to represent and serve fellow students while on the student council.

Some of my hobbies include basketball stat keeping, working out, baking, and watch repair. Also, as an extrovert, I'm always happy to engage with others and be around people. I’m greatly honored to have the chance to be a member of this school’s first student council, and I hope to use this opportunity to encourage my fellow council members and help positively impact HCOS.

Social Media Manager

Hello! My name is Hayley Holland, and I’m 17 years old. I’ve been attending HCOS for about 2 years now and I’ll be graduating this year. I love to draw, play the drums, listen to music, and edit photos. I have a true passion for photography, and I love to travel. I take pictures of all kinds of things and when I travel my camera never leaves my side. I like to explore the world and capture it beauty through my camera lens.

Though I’m a little introverted once you get to know me, I’m a funny, laid back, great friend to be around. I volunteer at a horse camp during the spring and summer, and when I’m not there I’m at home doing school and watching tv.

I am very excited to be a part of HCOS very first Student Council and hope as a Council we can impact others.

My name is Isabelle, I am 15 years old and I am one of the Grade 10 Representatives on the Student Council. I am the oldest of six and this is my family's third year with HCOS. I have a lot of interests and like to keep busy all year long. I enjoy activities such as acting, singing, dancing, swimming, playing with my siblings/dogs, skiing, baking, playing Minecraft, and so much more. I am very excited to be a part of the very first HCOS Student Council, and even though there is often a lot happening in my house I can always find time to respond to any questions, concerns, or requests you would like to bring to the council. Again, I am so excited to be a part of this first council and help to make the HCOS experience better for everyone.

Grade 11 Representative

I'm Kasian. As a learner I have been homeschooling my whole life and started my high school journey last year with HCOS. Apart from that I currently own and operate a small bicycle repair business on the island I live on, and am a part of the volunteer fire department, as well as doing landscaping work with a local company. I have always enjoyed working in collaborative leadership roles, much like the student council. In my free time I enjoy cycling in all its forms, reading anything good I can find, and learning through the abundant experiences that can be found in life. In previous roles I have helped to inform and develop plans for human centred infrastructure, as well as working on, and coordinating, sustainability projects to help communities move towards a better future. One thing you should know about me is that I can never have enough cycling in my life and currently own five bikes which I ride frequently.
