Grad 2020 Ceremony Updates!
As we move into the final weeks of the 2019-2020 school year, we have come to the place where we need to make a decision about our Grad Ceremonies. We had hoped to be able to share plans to gather together and celebrate face-to-face, but as we look at the coming months, a large gathering is not plausible based on the recommendations by the Provincial Health Officer.
So, we have made the decision to move our graduation ceremony to an online platform. This choice will allow us to gather virtually with friends, family and teachers to celebrate student accomplishments and formally send them forth to what the future holds.
With the shift to a virtual celebration, we realized that more families may now be able to attend and want to make sure we have provided the opportunity for all of our Grads to participate. At this point, we need to start over to gather information about Grads who are planning to attend. If you could please take a few moments to complete a new survey to indicate if you will be virtually joining us. Thank you in advance, this will help us reorient and begin preparations for a celebration at the end of June.
Our new plans center around an early evening celebration on Thursday, June 25. We are still in the midst of imagining what our virtual graduation will look like. We would like to be able to send out caps and tassels for Grads to wear during the celebration and for them to retain as a keepsake of this important milestone. Please fill out the survey linked below for each Grad that plans to attend by 3:00 pm on Friday, May 15. (EXTENDED to 11:45 pm May 19th)
As we continue to plan, we will likely be asking for more information from families - perhaps some photos or information about future plans - so we can personalize the ceremonies as much as possible. Please be watching for those future emails so we can create a fun and meaningful celebration for our Grads!
