Discover UBC-O!

UBC Student Recruitment & Advising is hosting a brand new event for prospective high school students from the Kelowna-area looking to attend university close to home. Discover UBC-O is an evening event where high school students and their parents can get detailed information about admissions and student life at UBC's Okanagan campus.

UBC staff and current students from right here in Kelowna at UBC's Okanagan campus will give an hour-long presentation designed to inspire and inform prospective students. After the presentation, our team of advisors and students will be available for questions and discussion.

Tickets are required to attend, since space is limited. Tickets are free and can be reserved online here, or by emailing recruitment.ok@ubc.ca.

*If you can't make this event - they are planning to hold another one January 7, 2019.

UBC UPDATE

At our recent counsellor information events in Kelowna, Vancouver, and Victoria, UBC presented an overview of a new approach to the academic assessment used to make undergraduate admission decisions. The slide deck, along with a video recording of the presentation, are available here: http://you.ubc.ca/tours-info-sessions/counsellor-events/.

Please note these changes do not require Grade 11 or 12 students to begin to chart a different academic path than the one they are currently on. The course requirements for all UBC programs are not changing. The new approach does not require your students to do more to gain admission to UBC; in fact, the changes are primarily designed to better recognize many of the positive educational outcomes that your students are already demonstrating.
